At Wellspring Development Consultancy, we believe that meaningful transformation begins with collaboration.

What Makes Us Different?

Wellspring Development Consultancy stands apart through our unwavering commitment to practical solutions that generate real results; purposeful, mission led benefits realisation – through engaging Head, Heart and Hand.

Are you seeking to change something?

Are you facing change?

Whether it’s organisational, professional, or personal, Wellspring DC supports people and teams to achieve their aspirations.  We enable people to have greater agency and empowerment in developing their relationships; to increase the pace and efficacy of the collaborative problem-solving.

We think Whole System, embrace digital, deliver at a granular level, never waver from a person-centred approach.

With our depth of experience, we can often share solutions and make connections, however, it’s very much about supporting people to ask the right questions, in ways that create emergent options, and activate collaborative solutions.

Away from the jargon, it’s about individuals being part of something positive, finding joy in the journey and delivering what they all agreed to do – big or small.

Our methodology focuses on collaboration:

Empowering performance through joyful collaboration

Unlike consultancies that apply standardised frameworks regardless of context, we tailor our approach to your specific culture, challenges, and aspirations. We believe in working with you, not simply for you—creating solutions together that have both immediate impact and long-term sustainability.

Our commitment to ethical practice runs through everything we do. We prioritise approaches that respect the dignity and potential of all involved, that build rather than deplete organisational resources, and that contribute to the broader social good.

As an external partner that cares, Wellspring DC can ask the questions that count, offer information that may not otherwise be shared, and support solutions that meet the need.

We use a range of proven tools and methodologies, coupled with diverse experience, to enable people and teams to achieve their aspirations, realising the benefits through Head, Heart and Hand.

Testimonials

Having worked with John on the Kit4Care programme, his ability to support collaboration and create new, functional partnerships was clear. From raising the funding to delivering the outputs, his strategic thinking and practical approach engaged both the executive and the frontline, where everyone learned and the challenges of navigating a new initiative were met to produce an outcome that was owned. Beside that, he’s a really nice person to work with.

Keith Chessell

CEO – Solcom Limited

NHS England South West’s regional Digital Neighbourhood Teams programme enabled clinicians to identify patients that could benefit from early support and interventions, reducing their likelihood of going to hospital. It was essential that there was a joined up approach between health, social care and community providers building a Team of Teams. John’s experience and understanding of the different groups, the specifics of their approaches and particular language was a requisite element in being able to drive the transformation.

Holding a diverse portfolio on the programme board, his people orientated approach supported those within the Programme Team and in the region wide delivery-sites to establish and collaborate on the necessary tasks.

The ability to work with a whole-systems mindset, and also to be able to connect with the ‘why’ of individuals and delivery teams brought insight and energy to realising the benefits of the programme.

Covering 44 PCNs and a population of 1.2million, the specification for the technical evaluation of the programme which he chaired demonstrated his creative approach to meaningful, sustainable outputs. His applied broad range of knowledge from both public and private sectors coupled with his collaborative approach enables me to recommend him to those seeking transformation with people at their heart.

Steve Trowell

Director for Digital Transformation, NHS England South West Region

I worked alongside John throughout the Kit4Care programme, which he conceived, chaired and led from a small test of merit through to a scaled, funded proof of concept connecting primary and social care. John was exceptional at creating the conditions for collaboration across traditional boundaries, with an approach that centred genuine listening, understanding and respect along with a focus on delivering meaningful change. His ability to bring stakeholders together, keep the evaluation rigorous and translate learning into a compelling case for change was instrumental in Kit4Care going on to win Outstanding Contribution to the Community at the South West Business Awards.

I’d recommend him to anyone looking for someone who can conceive, lead and deliver genuine system-level collaboration.

James Sinclair

COO – Care City

I was part of the core team that helped John bring the ‘Shaping Future Care’ conference to fruition. He envisaged the event from scratch, secured the funding, and built the alliances across health, social care, transport and technology that were needed to deliver the intended outcome. He hosted the day itself with real skill and professionalism – drawing a genuinely diverse, cross-sector audience into a productive shared conversation. I know of few people that can convene at that breadth and engage a very diverse audience in the way that John does. I’d recommend him to anyone wanting to build real cross-sector collaboration and deliver results.

Professor Peter Jones

UCL Centre for Transport Studies

I’ve known John since he trained with us to gain his KAI practitioner accreditation, and he remains one of the sharpest people I know at turning adaption-innovation theory into practice. He’s presented at two of our international KAI Symposiums, written on Collaborative Problem Solving, and is genuinely advancing the use of KAI across health and care – applying it to the volatility, uncertainty and complexity that sector faces today. I’d recommend him to anyone wanting to build genuine cognitive diversity and better problem-solving into their teams.
